Great hotel, great staff.
Super nice hotel. We got a good rate because it was a bit of an off time so that worked out great. The Good: Super clean, new modern hotel, superb service and staff, great breakfast included (if you pay) The Bad: This is an upscale hotel. The prices in the restaurants for dinner are astronomical (one restaurant is not too bad but still tough to pay for 4 nights so you need to go elsewhere). The location is a little out of the way. . But I still give the hotel full marks. I knew the location was a little out of the way when I booked it so can't fault them there. Meals could have been cheaper but breakfasts were great and as I said the staff were great.

Wonderful hotel!!
We have been on a long southeast Asia trip for our 45th wedding anniversary. This stay in Kyoto was a dream for a long time for me, and the Brighton hotel helped to make the stay in Kyoto the highlight of our trip. The staff was uniformly wonderful although some staff stand out even then. Akika Jones, a concierge, without being asked, tracked down items we were hoping to find, and was so happy for us that she succeeded! In the restaurant, at dinner one evening, when told of our anniversary, the staff made a photo of us that they presented in a lovely card, and wrote a message in chocolate on our dessert. Finally, Uraka Odajima was outstanding! She was so kind, gracious, helpful and enthousiastic that I felt I had made a friend. She happily helped me with so very many questions, going above and beyond. She made my stay memorable. We were sad to leave.

Treated well at the Brighton
The hotel is immaculate and service is their priority. Beds are super comfortable, rooms have complimentary Tassimo coffee. The shuttle every 20 minutes to the subway is convenient as the hotel is outside of shopping areas. There are 3 restaurants in the hotel, all with excellent food at very high prices. The surrounding area has many eating options.

Wonderful Stay
Brighton hotel is a landmark in Kyoto. Always a great experience except the cup of coffee in the lobby costing 1,000 Yen.
