The Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Whistler

I have to say the staff is amazing all of these people are from all over the world they’re all friendly they’re all very happy they’re all very communicative and engaging they work really hard just a great group of people

We were expecting a lot more from this stay given the reputation of the Fairmont Chateau in Whistler. For the price we paid, the hotel condition was less than average. The building is old and not very exciting, and the furniture was old and lame. The TV equipment were average. The layout of the room was not very functional. My daughter came with us but she had to work, there was no desk or table suitable for her to work on, so she had to work on the bed. The elevators were old and small. We had to wait for 15 minutes to catch the elevators (one at a time) to the lobby on the day of the checkout. There were 2 things that I should say were good: - The curtains were thick, and overlapped to fully block the Sun's light in the morning. - The hanging closet was large, and had a very useful movement-activated light to help you see inside

Nice property. Service was BAD. No body was picking phone at in house dining or housekeeping. We requested for rollover bed which never came. Wanted to place order for dinner no one picked the call. Over all, a sad experience

Although the hotel was very busy this holiday weekend, the staff went out of their way to be helpful. It is a gorgeous hotel and we love staying here.

Excellent. Very nice, upmarket facilities. Extremely courteous and professional staff at all levels.
