Not bad, but wouldn’t stay again
The property does not offer a reception, which I admit, I should’ve noticed when booking, we were lucky that when we arrived, there was a security lady outside the building to let us in, as we were lost on how to access the property and it was raining and 1°C, once inside there was an employee of the hotel there, he advised us that the check in is online only and that we would have received an email with instructions on how to do it after having made the booking, he offered no further help. I found this process rather inefficient as it relies on the guest having an advice that is charged and with Internet access. Also, I would expect the hotel to send me a reminder email the day before with instructions, considering I booked the hotel so many months prior. The room is spacious, comfortable and clean, however doesn’t really have curtains to speak of, they are more like sun shields rollers with big gaps between themselves, so the room stays quite bright with all the lights from the streets. The website advertises the property as having a workspace area, allegedly in the basement, but all I found there was employee quarters and their laundry room.

Great alternative to a hotel stay
We chose The Sonder because it was unlike a traditional hotel. The two bedrooms afforded us privacy from the kids, and the apartment was centrally located to downtown, restaurants, and museums. Parking was easy since there was a paid lot right next to the property. The unit itself was updated and clean, and we received the access code two days prior to check-in. We did experience problems with the outdoor key pad, however the security guard was able to let us in with no issues. I would stay at this location or other Sonder properties in the future.
