Excellent staff, excellent room, excellent baths!
My friend and I had a great time in this hotel. The rooms were in perfect condition, very clean and new looking. I especially liked the traditional Japanese windows (shoji) which provided nice lighting and also had a solid wood pane that slid shut, providing nearly blackout conditions. You need to remove your shoes when you enter the hotel, and place them in a locker; this was unexpected when we arrived, but we quickly got used to it and it was no issue at all (unless you forget to bring the locker key with you when you want to leave!).
They have a very good brunch buffet, though it may be a bit pricey depending on your appetite ($28CAD per person). Also it gets quite busy by 9am so you may have to wait to get in. They offer a good selection of eastern and western cuisine so our main issue was not taking too much!
The staff was extremely polite and professional, and went above and beyond for me. I had been to a shop where the owner did not speak English, and later realized I'd forgotten to ask him (with Google Translate) if he had an item my wife wanted. I asked the staff if they could call him for me and ask about the item. I could tell this was an unusual request, but they did it for me gladly and saved me a lot of trouble. I really appreciated it!
The hot springs are very nice as well. They're open at all times except 10am - 3pm.
I would highly recommend this hotel.
