Enjoyed our stay. The only negative points were the swimming pool was freezing and we were told at reception that breakfast was included and when we went to breakfast the next morning we were told we would be charged £15 each. The service in the restaurant was rather slow too and it was'nt even that busy.

Improvements needed
Had to request a heater 3 times over a 5 hour period as the room in the stables was freezing. Water did not get up to a temperature above luke warm Door fell off the wardrobe. Cleanliness was good and room size and location excellent

Country house setting , nice pool and spa
My sister and I stayed for two nights at a weekend. The hotel is in a lovely old country house and the grounds are well kept and pretty. Our room was in the 'stable block' a few minutes walk across the car parks from the main building. Nothing special about the rooms but we did both notice the bed was very comfy. We used the pool and spa a fair bit. The pool is a standard hotel sized pool and changing facilities are clean and decent. The 'thermal suite' is nice, it had two steam rooms and two saunas. It was due for renovation the week after we left so hopefully it will be even nicer after that. We ate dinner in the restaurant on the first night and the food was good quality though the service a little haphazard. It seemed to be that different parts of the hotel weren't so good with communicating with each other, for example our dinner reservation we made on the night wasn't in the book, and it took me a long while to book treatments in the spa over the phone a few days before we arrived. However all the staff were very pleasant and helpful with things like booking taxis and dealing with questions. There was an issue with the hot water in our room on the second night and they compensated us by giving us a discounted room rate. Apart from that we had a lovely weekend.
