10/10 Exceptional

The hotel is separate from the Casino but right next door. You have to check in within the casino itself but it only a short walk next door. The hotel has the charm of an older building with updated amenities. We stayed in the King Deluxe Room which was very spacious. If you are looking for a quiet area that just happens to be next to a casino, then this is the place. We would definitely stay here again.

Very Nice Stay.
Over All it was a very nice stay. Location was Great ! Rooms were good except it was very Dark, not enough lighting . Check in was at the Casino, but trying to find Ice was Impossible. I would come back.

Great room to see Shakespeare
Reserved this room for a weekend getaway for the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. The proximity was great (30 min drive), and there are some other nice sites to see 10 minutes away (beaches and vegan food). The room was clean and comfortable. The toilet didn’t flush very well and one of the curtains didn’t roll up, but the bed was comfortable, the fireplace and bathtub jets worked great. So that was a 3.5/5. Check in was easy (in the casino), and I was glad the guest rooms and its parking were located away from the casino. Noise was minimal and smoke free. If you’re looking for a decent spot to sleep and see other cool sights around north Tahoe, this is a good choice.

Loved our stay here! Great soaking tub in both rooms we used! Staff was exceptionally helpful. The rooms are in a detached building, not in the Casino. When we asked an employee on break about ice,and he went to the main building and received Ice for us. While on his break!!! Only one recommendation for the Border house... You need king size beds , the rooms have the space. And that's the only improvement I can suggest.

6/10 Good

Bed was terribly uncomfortable and room was extremely dark. The desk chair was hard as a rock. The best part of the stay was the manager on duty. She was extremely kind & very accommodating.

2/10 Poor

Very pricey place that couldn’t provide a room key
The room itself was great! What really made this stay no fun was being told we would not be able to get keys made for our room due to their “system being down.” The system ended up being down throughout our entire stay so anytime we wanted in our room we had to go into the Casio and hang out at the hotel desk until someone noticed us and then walk us to our room as if we were children. After about the 5th time of having to do this my husband let them know how frustrated he was. They did offer us an extra nights stay but no thank you since we can’t even get a key to our room. Also, that was after were told the day of check in that we wouldn’t be getting the king size bed that we had booked due to the air conditioner not working. Had the 2 issues that I mentioned not have happened this would be a pretty cool place to stay. I don’t know that we’d pay over $400 per night again to stay here after what we went through.

The lighting is awful. It’s extremely dim and difficult to see anything. Also, no door in the bathroom was undesirable.

Curtain only
Room was 96 degrees - we got another room when manager was not able to repair. Then we discovered that shower in new room did not work. If you have privacy issues suggest somewhere else….toilet only has curtain..not a door. Staff tried to make things better and restaurant is excellent
