  • 6.0.Good

Cleanliness was good, room and room service was good. Disappointed with service in the restaurants and bar areas. the menus were limited, breakfast was limited and too expensive. Breakfast should have been included with the cost of the room. Couldn't have coffee and toast if I wanted too. Bar staff require better training in pouring drinks, found at time little or no alcohol mixed in drinks. Poor service on the beach, no service. Hotel store required longer hours, more stock. More shuttles during the day to get downtown. Would have appreciated snorkel and mask use for the days. Menus could have been better, more variety. Service staff should be more familiar with menus.

Our room in the Octagon building was lovely! We had an outstanding balcony with a view of the beach, ocean and pool, as well as a side view down the coast to watch the sunset and the cruise ships come in and out. The service was wonderful, from lunch at the pool bar with Donna to drinks and snacks at the Schooner bar with Elvis and Elvis (yes, there are two!) everyone was very happy and helpful.

This property is beautiful. There was a nice mix of young families and mature retirees. It is quiet and relaxing. The beds were comfortable and in the apartment suite the bathrooms were newly renovated. Most evenings have live entertainment which is also not loud. The food in the restaurants is for the most part excellent. Just a little disappointment in the fish at The Blues restaurant. The Saturday night BBQ buffet had wide variety of grilled meat and fish. The only bit of disappointment, was the furnishings in the living room/kitchen area. It was very sparse. There was no dining/kitchen table which is fine in the warm climate where there was outside dining furniture on the private patio. However, there was only a chesterfield and two miss match chairs in the living room and no TV. So you to watch TV, you sit on the bed. American stations are available. The kitchen is equipped with basic utensils, toaster, coffee maker and kettle. Dishwasher. Could use mixing bowls and salad bowl. I would highly Avila Beach Hotel.

The location is great and the hotel is quite nice. The beach area is pleasant and was not too crowded. The room that was allocated to us was small, tucked in the back of the property, dark and should be updated. The phone did not work and there was a light out in the bathroom and requests to have both repaired were not attended to. One morning there was construction in the unit above us starting at 7:00 a.m. and the next morning someone started a leaf blower to clean the grounds at 6:00 a.m.!! The hotel is quiet and nicely situated to take advantage of many local restaurants; however the general area is quite run down but I thinking is slowly undergoing gentrification.

January stay in Avila Beach Resort

Excellent resort especially compared to others on the island Weather was fabulous and lots to see on the Island Highly recommend Avila Beach Hotel and a visit to Curacao. Museum in Wiillamsted is remarkable. The price of restaurants on the Island is a little higher than expected , just check if menu prices are in Curacao guilders or US dollars
