The Fairfax at Embassy Row, Washington, D.C., Washington

The furniture, the curtains and the carpet in the room were very old and smelled badly. We also noticed that the bedsheets were not changed after the last guest left because we found some spots on them and reported it to the manager right away. The breakfast had very limited stuff. Overall we were very disappointed with this hotel and left the next day. We stayed in another hotel for the rest of our trip.

Wonderful hotel. Beautiful building and rooms. Quiet. Very close to the metro.

Convenient and clean.
TV reception was sporadic and incomplete. WIFI access was partial and not secure. Terrific art gallery (Phillips Collection) is nearby...staff seem not to know that. Excellent restaurants (eg Tiramisu) and bars (the Baron) and Starbucks just around a corner. Travel through the metro very convenient and cheap. Staff not knowledgeable nor particularly helpful. Rooms very modern and clean.

Very Good8.0
The hotel is very attractive: clean, quiet and comfortable room, excellent service. Only two disappointments: food service is extremely limited and, in the case of breakfast, seriously overpriced (especially for a pre-made buffet); also location -- situated in a nice neighbourhood, but not terribly convenient for touring museums and other downtown sites, shopping, etc.
