Clean and new and was fresh. Reception staff were professional and friendly. Bar staff were okay however I had an incident with my card and need should have kept got receipts for tap and go purchases at bar. 2 beers do not come to $50.50

Beautifully designed hotel - lovely to stay in a place that is brand new! The only part that disappointed us was that all the photos of the room we booked had balconies, and our actual room did not.

Awful smell in room
The hotel itself is very nice but it’s let down by a few aspects. Firstly, my room smelt so bad - very damp and musty smell. The lady at reception came up to check it and even admitted it was very bad. They couldn’t/wouldn’t move me to a different room so I had to endure it. Nothing complimentary given as a courtesy to make up for sleeping in that awful smell. They said it was due to the heavy rain - I’m sorry but all hotels in the tropics encounter heavy rain and none smell this bad! Secondly, their pools are accessible to the public? So it’s very unfair on guests staying there. Thirdly, rooms are tiny so just be prepared for that!

We travel all over the world and stay in anything from 3 to 5 star however have never been so disappointed in this hotel which claims to be 5 star? We always support our hotels in our home place and go into Cairns several times a year. We will never go back to this hotel as we paid premium price but didn’t get what we were expecting which wasn’t unreasonable... no restaurant open, no bar open...really! WE have STAYED AT CRYSTAL BROOKE PREVIOUSLY, but this hotel has been our biggest disappointment! No service, towels we could poke our finger through, no milk for coffee. In the year we have had in the current time, this is my biggest disappointment!
