Solid choice for families
Moody Garden is a solid choice if you're going to Galveston for a family trip. The amenities are very kid friendly. They have a game room, a very large nice pool with a waterfall, and they even have movie nights on the first floor. Within walking distance there is an awesome aquarium, and artificial rain forest that was well done. The restaurants on site are solid, with good choices for kids and adults alike. My only complaint is it seems that the hotel needs some maintenance. Our window in our hotel room didn't seem to be properly sealed and moisture was building up on the windows inside and forming a puddle on the sill.

Good family stay
Went during spring break, had a fun kids centered itinerary. Pool and game areas were great, food at the Cafe was fine. Breakfast was good, just a bit of a wait for large parties. I don't recommend the dinner buffet, unless you're in a hurry. Just wasn't busy enough to keep it fresh. Great for a Moody Gardens visit, easy walking distance. Room was fine, beds were not to our liking, but sufficed for a short trip.

Great room to arrive to, poor room service
Check-in was a breeze and the room super comfy. It was nice the sofa sleeper was even turned down and prepped! Staff was great. Cons: I'm traveling w/my wife and daughter, while the room and bathroom were very clean, the toilet seat was up, almost a dipping disaster! Room service - we arrived around 8:30 pm and decided it would be easier to order in. It seemed smooth ordering but I first had to plug the disconnected phone in and it didnt work, so then I went to another phone. I had to repeat my order a few times for the 3 of us and they called back after our order 3 times I think it was b/c they forgot one of our orders, then needed to clarify something on the order again and finally to inform me that one of our side choices was not avaialble. This was a bit frustrating as it seemed quite unprofessional and as if they were not too familair w/the menu and certianly did a poor job writing down or recording the order. Another several minutes of repeating myself on follow up calls makes the price certainly less worth it. Thats supposed to be paying for a convenience and it was far from that getting it ordered. For the cost, you tend to expect a much smoother experience, certainly w/a higher level of professionalism and customer service. Left something to be desired for sure.

We had horrible service in the dining room but food was good. The management especially Michelle went out of their way and corrected everything. They were knowledgeable and i would recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms were spotless and comfortable.
