We stayed for a night and booked a room with a view on the higher floor which turned out a view toward an office building. I could enjoy watching people in the building next door work in their office while unpacking my luggage until some people looked back, haha. Totally not worth the optional cost for the view room. Room was nice but small, the bed was comfortable and I had a good sleep. Maybe something for the younger crowd, nothing authentic. Glad we were fully compensated by the airline for this stay because of flight cancellations. A bit pricy for its offerings.

The Yuen Sapporo was absolutely beautiful! I loved the simplistic architectural design. My room, the maisonette tour was so unique - I've never had a two-floor hotel room. The onsen was beautiful and relaxing. I particularly enjoyed the outside portion of the onsen where i could enjoy the snow and cool air mixed with the hot bath water. The staff was incredibly helpful and patient with my limited use of Japanese. They helped me coordinate with our shuttle bus to locate my daughter's left- behind back pack, coordinated a taxi for us, helped me to see if the Sapporo Beer museum was still open after a snow storm, and helped me when my airport shuttle bus company couldn't stop at my location after the heavy snow fall. Will absolutely recommend this place to friends.
