Not Good- beware of extra charges!!!
This hotel charged a $265 smoking fee. I do not nor have I ever smoked. No one approached me or said anything (why would they as it did not occur) but I received a notice on my statement a few days later. I am a business owner, a yoga teacher, and a health freak! I would never smoke anywhere. When I explained this to the managers they were not helpful. They just kept saying we have to listen to the housekeeping staff. I don't know if this is an attempt at getting money or a lie by someone but this is not a small charge and it is simply untrue. Aside from that the hotel is okay. It's a bit rundown and older but the pool is huge and there is a hot tub. Stay at the nearby Hyatt instead. It is a very nice hotel with proper customer service and full amenities.

Disappointed
I have stayed at the Kensington in the past, and booked here again specifically for the really nice pool they have. The price of this hotel has gone up to over $200 per night but I booked anyway because my friends and I wanted to hang out in the pool and hot tub. When we arrived, they said the pool is closed for annual maintenance. I was so disappointed. The room was small and the ceilings were so low in the bathroom. Definitely not worth the price I paid. They did let us go to the pool at The Even next door, but that was a pain. I would have just booked somewhere else.

Cozy stay with a welcoming atmosphere
The Kensington hotel is very large with many hallways yet it still felt cozy. The restaurant, Relish, was very welcoming and comfortable. The staff were very attentive and friendly, especially Haylee, I believe her name was. The selection was limited yet the food was delicious. The only issue I had was the bed felt too soft for my back. The room was spacious and quiet which I enjoyed. I would definitely stay here again.

Pretty decent place. Very quiet and you located next to the mall and restaurants!! And it takes no longer than 10 mins to get to a lot of attractions. The only thing is they did not serve breakfast. You had to pay for things like muffins and things of that nature. There were other hotels close that offered that option!

Stains, bugs and dirty toilet!!
We have stayed at the Kensington Hotel in Ann Arbor a few times and it's always been very good. However, this trip was not up to par! My husband and son stayed this time and the room was NOT clean!! It was late, they were exhausted after a 10 hour drive and they didn't want to change rooms, so my husband just cleaned it up, but there were dried stains on the bathroom counter, hair in the sink, 2 ants crawling around the bathroom floor and a floater in the toilet!!! EEWWW!!! He took photos and showed them to the manager in the morning, but she only said she would talk to housekeeping and he could get an upgrade for a future stay!

Go elsewhere if you need an “accessible” room.
We had an “accessible” room. The shower had inadequate grab bars (not enough, and not well placed), the toilet was exceptionally low and there was no grab bar to aid in getting up, and the bathroom was very cold — not heated, and the outside temperature was less than 10 degrees. Very uninviting and inconvenient for an “accessible” room. Aside from the room, the place was perfectly ok.
