We had a great stay at the Ashburn. Staff were friendly and helpful Great location The continental breakfast was very good with many choices You could also order a hot breakfast which was reasonably priced Would stay here again

Very Good 8.0
In the heart of South Kensington.
Staff very friendly. We had trouble with the shower handle. On reporting it, within a half hour they had a plumber on the spot. The free breakfast exceeded our expections. Clean white table cloths and a good selection of food items. Location was great near museums and restaurants.

Good 6.0
Good location but tired hotel.
Easy to walk to South Kensington, just a short distance (1 block) to a tube station. Lots of restaurants / cafes in South Kensington, so great location. The hotel is a small property which is what I wanted. However, the online pictures , as is so often the case, made it look in better shape than it actually is. The rooms are tired, very tired. The headboard on the bed felt like it needed a good vacuming as it was fabric. The drapes as well. You have to remove the drapes from the ties to close them ( for privacy at night ) so you can't help but handle them. However, they don't feel clean. The lampshade on the night tables had to be removed so that I could read as they are a dark fabric. The bathroom worked well, although you have to pump the handle a few times to get the toilet to flush. The included continental breakfast was very basic and the staff at breakfast were not that welcoming, you got the sense you were adding to their workload. Having said all that, I did sleep well and felt secure.

Breakfast was great, room upgrade offered, service and location was perfect

Good 6.0
The hotel was overheated given the outdoor temperature. The only way to cool the room down was to open the windows which obviously meant putting up with the traffic noise from Cromwell road, the lesser of the two evils. The other downside was breakfast. This was served in a small dining room that had tables crammed in but still couldn't cope with the numbers waiting too eat. The two waitresses were so busy trying to clear tables they didn't hear when I ordered from the menu and I had to reorder after fifteen minutes to get it served.
