    Nice place to stay
Hotel Solaire was a nice place to stay in a fairly decent neighborhood. Breakfast was a little less than what I was expecting.

    Okay place
The staff at this hotel was very friendly and very helpful. My hotel room, however, was not clean but after having my sheets changed for a 3rd time I was finally able to relax. They are renovating some of the rooms and it looks like it will be a great improvement, our hotel room though was pretty worse for wear. The lights were very dark and the cabinetry was pretty banged up, tiles were cracked in the bathroom and the bathtub looked to be 100 years old. The area wasn't horrible, I didn't feel unsafe but there were quite a few homeless sleeping on sidewalks. There was nothing around the hotel though so didn't have much reason to be hanging out there after dark. All in all, it wasn't a horrible stay and if need be I could and would stay there again

    Small cozy room
He room was quiet small and cozy. I enjoyed the decor in the room and wouldn't mind staying here again. The neighborhood was quiet when I arrived but no businesses were open within the walking distance.

Very comfortable but paper thin walls
This hotel was very nice inside. The bed was SO comfortable. It is in a shady area but once on the property it is fine. The only super negative thing is the walls are like paper. There is no privacy and we could hear our neighbors talking as if they were in the same room. Even heard some things we didn't want to hear from the room next door in the middle of the night. I was woken around 6 am with doors shutting, the neighbors tv on, and listening to them having a conversation. I would not stay again for that reason.

    Lovely hotel
Quiet clean modern place right outside DTLA within walking distance of restaurants and stores. My fav place to stay when I’m in town.

    Good value
This has been a go to for me for several years for my DTLA stays. The neighborhood might be a little ragged for some, but I like the vibrancy of it even though it’s a little gritty around the edges. It certainly does not feel unsafe, even late night. Lots of street vendors and food options nearby including the classic LA institution, Langer’s deli/sandwich shop. The 7 minute walk to the Metro station is a big plus for us too. Zero of the 3 ice machines worked during our stay, not a deal killer, just a bit of a bummer. I hate to pay for parking, but a $5 parking fee is perfectly acceptable. Everything was reasonably clean, but certainly not spotless. I’m not sure if they ever completed the remodel, but the rooms that have been remodeled are kind of cool in a funky slightly steampunkish retro way. Overall, from my experience, this place is hard to beat in the DTLV area in the $100-$150 price range.

The hotel staff was wonderful!!! Unfortunately, there were ants in my bathroom, torn curtains, and the room just didn't feel clean.
