Good
Near the airport isn't everything.
Initial response was favourable, staff efficient and friendly, check-in swift, lounge and dining area attractive. Room was utilitarian, bathroom fittings clean but rather old. Chair upholstery was worn. The carpet may have been clean but even the drab brown colour could not hide the extensive staining that has occurred over the years. This was off-putting and I avoided putting my bare feet on it. Considering the cost of a night's accommodation, the room needs a make-over. I chose the hotel for its close proximity to the airport. It is convenient but I would not be inclined to chose it again.

Stuffy, expensive and not up to standard.
Not great. We stayed one night, and were disappointed to see that there was no air conditioning in the room. I realize it's Edinburgh, but the room was stuffy and the window - able to open only a crack - did not help. For the price, and with the Doubletree name, I expect better.

Very Good
Great place for short overnight layovers!
We had a very short stay (less than 8 hours) as our flight coming in was late and our flight going out was very early. It took about 10 minutes to walk to the hotel from the airport, but there is a free shuttle that runs 24 hours every 15 minutes. You get a delicious cookie upon check in, and the front desk clerks were very friendly and welcoming. The only problem we had with our room was that the tv wasn't working properly, but other than that, it was a comfortable stay.

Exceptional
Great airport location, excellent food.
Large comfortable room, great service. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel and travel to France for one week. We had dinner in the restaurant, it was excellent, very good food. The breakfast is served early for the guests leaving early to get to the airport. I would stay here again when travelling through Edinburgh airport.
