Great spot
We had a lovely stay and the hotel was very conveniently located. The staff was very nice and helpful. Only complaint was that the first room we were given was next to some folks who left their giant dog and tiny dog both locked up their entire stay in the hotel room. Terrible pet owners (imho). We had gotten back from dinner and a show around 10 pm when we noticed the barking. By 11pm when it had not quit we called down. They sent a manager up to listen for the dogs. They confirmed that it sounded like a scared dog and a very mean dog (according to the employee at the Redbury). She said they would notify the guests. By midnight the barking was still going on so we called down again. They said that they spoke to the owners and they were on their way back from being out. Within 30 mins the barking appeared to stop. The next morning we asked to change rooms as it was told to us those guests were staying for four days. Other than that a cute spot!

Beautiful but too noisy for a light sleeper
This is a beautiful hotel, well situated, but if you are sensitive to noise as I am it might not be for you. Seems to be no soundproofing and as the rooms and halls are small because it is a historic hotel, noise carries. On the first night I was awaken by a very loud neighbour and you can hear very intimate sound they make. And I do mean intimate ! As well the air conditioning and ventilation is super noisy and woke me up every time it came on. If you are a sound sleeper, no worries as it is a great hotel in every other way

Poor
Decent atmosphere but small rooms and very loud AC
Decent atmosphere but the rooms are very small. The A/C didn't work at first (just loud fan noise) and needed three calls and two visits to work. Left with fan noise so loud it was very difficult to sleep. Ask someone to fix the noise, but nothing changed.

Good
Good location, not more
Not worth more than 3 star. Heating and cooling system wasn't working. The hallways smelled cigarettes and weed. Needed to do some work in my room during the day, but there was no way I could focus with work being done in the hallway and workers talking loudly. The location is good.

Okay Hotel in a Pinch
Went to NYC for our 10th Anniversary. Staff were helpful and friendly, but the place smells like a camp fire when you enter. Probably because it has a wood fired pizza kitchen on the main floor. Very dim lit and sombre when you enter. The room was clean and tidy, if a bit small. The biggest issue by far was the noisy air conditioner. Kept us up all night going on and off. It's a window shaker. We couldn't turn it off because it was very hot in the room. The location was good for walking around the Midtown attractions and getting to the subway.
