A little bummed
Hotel was clean and you could see practices for Covid were in place and good, valet you had to wait over an hour. We requested cutlery that took an hour to be delivered to our room. Breakfast was awful. Eggs were cold and hollandaise was sticky and had a film on top.

Very Good
The bed is too soft and the bathtub wasn’t the cleanest. I purposely chose a room with a tub but didn’t end up using it because of cleanliness . But service and food were great and room is nice.

The room was freezing bc of the heater works for only 26.5degrees.but the staff changed a room to another room very quickly. Nice work! And they never call after check-out time. I slept a lot but i came out without annoying call so i appreciated it... it was the best they don’t call to guest sleeps a lot accidentally.. they are benevolent beautifully

Front desk staff who has absense of welcoming voice and face(cuz i couldn’t see his face tho but voice neither has no sentiment i’ve seen a lot of hotel concierge maybe that’s why i could catch it. And calling service staff had also absense of the appropriate attitude that hotel staff is supposed to have. But the room was okay for me but a little old design of walls, and a pic of the wall as well. Looks very old so if you like to experience in middle age or sth then go try it. Nice sofa chair tho. Mirror on the wall looked a bit scary and amenities were the best they’ve got. Despite of these things, i’d like to stay there one more since i just liked the bedding and mattress, It was a bit dark light in the room, they have to put more lights and I ordered ubereats there but the concierge never got me the food to my room so i needed to go down to lobby and pick up. I thought it’s very natural service that concierge guys must provide (they said “bc of covid” tho there are some hotels where still provide this service so i could compare there to this hotel. But this hotel is the one of the most hotel you should try when you come to toronto. Other than the services i’d like to go there agn just one time.

My partner and I celebrated our first Christmas together at the Royal York last night. The high-quality customer service was unrivalled. Kevin made our stay very enjoyable. He made sure we had robes, bottled water and an excellent room. Kevin’s astute care to detail and genuine engagement will be the reason we come back.

The staff was great! The lobby was great as well! The standard room was very very small, and the air conditioner did not work. The location is very convenient to Union station.
