    Nice Stay

Very helpful receptionist/front desk. She was able to accommodate our request. The hotel is so close to Shopping which made the experience great a s convenient. Something that might need attention from the owner is placing the coat rack by the room entrance room for the loft as there is only a closet with beds in the second loft/mezzanine area. Adding an iron with iron table to the room would be great as well.

    Absolute WORST bed in Banff!

This was our first stay at Elk and Avenue since i was Banff International. Our room had to have the Worst Bed in Banff. The mattress sagged in the middle, so my wife and i were smushed in the middle. Aside from the sag, it was just unpleasant feeling; hard and lumpy. The pillows were horrible! Very thick and hard. The sheets were very rough. We just tossed and turned all night unable to get comfortable at all. We have stayed in almost every hotel in Banff, this was 100% the worst experience so far. There was off staining on the ceiling and the carpet. Checknin staff were pleasant and friendly, but the gentleman that checked us out said barely 5 words to us. The Only positive about our stay was that the water pressue in the shower was Fabulous... but a great 5 minute shower does not make up for 8 hours of misery in bed. Will not stay here again!

Our room was okay however carpet could have been cleaner. The reception was poor. We waited behind two ladies who took a little long. When it was our turn We were served by a male who did not apologize for the wait or acknowledge our children. He was not friendly or warm. He told us the kitchen would be closing shortly but did not tell us about other options incase we needed food(supper). Same thing in the morning. He told us the restaurant was not open till 12 and did not advise us of other options especially seeing we had kids. The workers at the reception should acknowledge kids because they are also customers and it makes families want to come back to your hotel. Workers shld be nice and friendly. Ask guests how their drive was, where they are coming from(just make conversations).it’s part of customer service skills.
