We stayed at the Regency for convenience because of the wedding party we were part of. Staff were great, room although large and comfortable was sadly looking in need of TLC. Towel rail and toilet roll holder were starting to come away from the wall. When I dropped some coins, some rolled under the bed, the floor hadn't been hoovered, thick dust and an old do not disturb sign were pulled out. Breakfast was ok, standard buffet fare, serving staff were good though. The food was of a good standard for the wedding party and the evening party was good fun, good DJ. An error was made by overcharging us when booking in but that was rectified with no problem. Location of hotel is great, short drive into Solihull and close to M42.

Comfy and quiet room. Disappointing drinks prices
Comfy and quiet room which is what I wanted. Expensive diet coke (£2 for small 200ml bottle, so over £4 a pint). Food okay. I ate in the bar - but had upset stomach after. Not at all saying it was the food, but when I mentioned it 3 times to reception because I couldn't face breakfast on day 1, they weren't really interested). Good breakfast on day 2 though.

Brilliant One Night Stay
I was upgraded to a ground floor room with patio doors as the weather was so hot. I was really pleased that the Receptionist had considered this for me. My one night stay was brilliant. I would stay here again.

One nighter
The Hotel was nice although a lot bigger than we thought it was going to be, the pool area was lovely. The room was comfortable but the bathroom was a bit dated, but all in all a pleasant stay in a quiet room.

A few too many issues to make it worth the expense
The staff were generally friendly. However there were a few things which meant it didn't seem worth the fairly high price of this hotel: The postcode on the hotel's website directs you to the car park of a Costa Coffee on an industrial estate. They could be a bit clearer on directions on their site I think. My double room was really very small and exceedingly hot. I asked to be changed to a room with Air Con but was told no rooms have Air Con. This seems a bit poor given the price of rooms. Therefore I'd advise not stay here in the summer. The little desk fan they sent up didn't help at all, just wafter the hot air round the room! I had constant problems with the key card not working in the door. I must have gone to reception 5 times in my 2 day stay to have it re-set. Again, this isn't rocket science and should be easy enough to sort. And no, I didn't have the key next to my mobile, in case you were wondering. So all in all, it was clean and staff were ok, but I can't really recommend this hotel.
