Great location but very busy street

Dublin Skylon Hotel, Dublin
Room (301) was very small for a so-called Executive King room. Stains on the pillowcases. Rooms were supposed to be soundproof but could hear hallway noise very clearly, Fire door outside room was left ajar and woke me up several times due to banging. No guest computers.

Would not recommend.
Issues: toilet seat was loose and incorrect size; washroom floor was stained; tea/coffee not replenished; heating/cooling system not "foreigner" friendly; room service surcharge not expected; located too far for downtown centre; restaurant customer service was not acceptable anywhere in the world. Maintenance was quick to tighten the toilet seat when asked but why did they need to be asked when the cleaning staff could have seen it was clearly an issue. Coffee and tea had to be purchased at the local grocer since it was not replenished the next morning. At the Bar/Grill on site the three waitresses and one hostess could not deal with the three quarter full restaurant. We had to ask the two other servers for items since our server did not check on us and passed the table a number of time since we were seated near the bar/beverage station. We ordered dessert that never arrived. The server then went to talk about us to our assigned server (I'm hearing impaired and can lip-read). The pub/bar across the street got our business instead. The front desk staff were very nice but there was a wait the three times we needed assistance. For the cost of this room, even with the discount, I would not recommend.

Great Hotel for a Quick Stay in Dublin
The Best Western Skylon is a great "airport hotel" located close to both Dublin airport and central Dublin so it offers the best of both worlds. Shuttle service to the airport and quick, easy, and cheap public transport to central Dublin. The hotel staff were very helpful, rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel restaurant was very good!
