LHR fire ruined trip and hotel made it worse

Our trip was cancelled due to the fire at Heathrow and this hotel would not work with us. They said we would be charged and could take it up with the airline. The woman I spoke with said she would email me a receipt to file a claim with the airline after the date of our stay passed. She requested my email and said she made a note. After the date came and went, I never received an email from the property. When I reached out again to the property they said they couldn’t provide a receipt and that I’d have to reach out to hotels.com. Our trip was ruined and all the other hotels and the rental car company were all very understanding except Hotel Dublin Skylon Hotel. I doubt I’ll ever go to Ireland, but if I do, I won’t stay there.

There was CONSTRUCTION WORK going on in the room below mine - jackhammers, drills & hammering. I did NOT appreciate this - the hotel could have warned me beforehand!
