Nice break not too far away from home

After reading all reviews here we were a bit sceptical but hotel definitely is much better than described in some of them. The hotel room was clean and in a good condition and beds were comfortable. Breakfast buffet had a good selection. The hotel has a surprisingly large swimming pool. Our kids were delighted to know that they can go there several times a day. The only thing I would say requires improvement is probably dinner as the food was a bit blunt

    Weekend Stay..

My husband and I stayed 2 nights for our son's wedding. I feel the price for the breakfast is too expensive although was very good but certainly is not value for money I feel the price should be lowered to at least 10 pounds. It would have been nice to have had teas and coffee served after 12 in the foyer before retiring to our rooms. But I feel the hotel 8s a little dated but all the staff are so very helpful imformative and friendly.

We booked bed and breakfast for 2 nights and the breakfast was freezing cold on the first day so we went out for breakfast on the second day and when I said it to the receptionist when we were checking out she just said ah sorry about that, that was her only response

    Parking

Lovely Hotel and staff were very friendly, however was disappointed to find out you have to pay for on site parking even though you’ve already paid for a nights stay…

    Not the best

The hotel is very tired, the room was large but no air conditioning just a fan which if used used 1 of the 2 sockets available for charging phones etc. On our second night a siren was going all night causing a disturbed nights sleep in a bed that was the firmest I've ever slept on and was not at all suitable for my wife. Overall not a hotel I would return to by choice until it has a major refurb. The only saving grace is its location being close to the Kent County Showground.

    Noisy and hot

I stayed here before and it was lovely, but I was in a different room facing the main road this time. I couldn't sleep much because of the heat, even with the fan they provided. Then I was woken up at 5:30am both nights by the sound of blaring traffic and motorbikes from the main road. Perhaps invest in double-glazed windows or some sound-proofing for that side of the building? Breakfast was nice but a bit bland; but hotel still serves jam, marmelade ans sauce in those stingy little plastic sachets with barely anything in them. So wasteful and un-ecofriendly. Asides from those two problems, the room was clean and everything else was fine. I just didn't get much sleep!
