Disappointed
I thought the hotel was dated in appearance. I wasn’t told rooms were cleaned every 3 days, which is fine, if there is a towel rail to dry wet towels on. My duvet cover was poorly fitted to the duvet, and was uncomfortable. The facilities to clean mugs in the room, and would expect in a 4 star hotel for tea and coffee to be topped up daily and mugs to be replaced with clean ones. I arrived at 22:30 on Friday after 14 hours of work, having not eaten since lunch time. I was told the restaurant was closed but I could wait until 11pm to order a sandwich which I did. I returned from work Saturday afternoon as I had an hour spare, to find my wet towels still wet, my sandwich tray still in the room and no tea bags and dirty mugs. I was disappointed and tired. I am further disappointed that I was charged £11 for ‘tray service’ and £10 for the sandwich. I am unsure how you can justify charging £21 for a chicken sandwich and leaving the plate in the room for 16 hours???

Could have been an awesome stay but….
Booked two rooms. On rooms TV wasn’t working properly. There is construction going on. Three days a week, they offer infant swim lessons for non-hotel guests. There were at least ten babies and their mothers in the small indoor pool. The mothers were singing baby songs and it was so loud, one could not hear anything else in the wellness building. At 8:00am I was listening to welding, grinders and hammering in the rooms near me. Hot tub wasn’t even close to hot. The food was good. Beds were comfortable. Not sure if I will stay there again.

Nice hotel but there are a some improvements
So the hotel itself were great, the staff were great and it was a pretty nice stay overall so 4* for this overall. Leisure facilities were good and people were flexible enough to accommodate. I would stay again (this is my 2nd stay). There are some overall improvements to be made: 1. The hotel could use a lick of paint, I appreciate that their were contractors there and this not deter our overall experience. I think they were refurbishing the 2nd floor although there was no real noise which we noticed. 2. My main gripe is with the restaurant. Whilst the breakfast itself was excellent catering for a wide variety of tastes, when it came to the evening meals the restaurant was marketed as some high end restaurant when in truth the food was pretty good, but the prices do not adequately reflect the food, or the choice for that matter. To be charged the better part of £18.00 for a burger is disgusting when in honesty it wasnt that good. My wife had room service and was charged £23.00 for the chicken with a £10.00 delivery charge. Now this could be reflected in the portion size, but this simply was not the case. I do not have that big an appetite for a man, but could easily finish the portion which I was given and whilst it was enough for me, for most, it would not be enough. My wife got a chinese takeaway on the 2nd night and me and my daughter ate in a very good restaurant in the city (Cote). That restaurant was excellent and was FAR superior to that of the hotel.
