Bad communication between hotels.com and hotel
The stay was okay. The reservation process was lacking. Told I did not have a reservation on my way to hotel. Called back, told they checked the hotels.com portal and the reservation was there. Mind you, my first call was several hours after the reservation was made so plenty of time for them to see it. Thought is was all figured out until I saw my credit card statement. Charged by hotels.com for the stay and then charged again by the hotel even though I prepaid. Spent quite a bit of time trying to resolve this with the hotel. Still not sure if it is. Have to wait for credit card to show charges reversed. Very stressful. This is actually the second time I have had this happen. The first time around, several years ago, reservation was not made and had to find last minute lodging.
