We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Alexandra. Great location and pleasant staff. Bed was very firm but otherwise room was excellent and clean. Despite hanging “do not disturb “ in door when we went for breakfast - housekeeping lady still went in room to clean. Housekeeping staff were very pleasant though. Only suggestion is there be a garbage available in lobby or hall way outside breakfast area.

Exceptional 10.0
nicest city hotel
most convenient city hotel on tree lined boulevard with the nicest wayside restaurants with Italian dishes at reasonable rates. 10 minute walk to Trevi and Spanish steps and 20 minutes to the Pantheon. i hour e50 taxi ride from airport.Older hotel with a few steps from entrance. We have stayed at many hotels worldwide and this has the friendliest reception who went out of the way to help us.Rooms were small but clean and AC was good.Breakfast was average but relatively cheap. Will stay again for sure and highly recommend at almost a budget price and it's great value for money !

Exceptional 10.0
Hotel Alexandra is very modern, staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, however pillows were way too soft. Breakfast was included and very good choices. Close to metro station to get around. Not easy to find on foot but locals were very friendly and only got lost once in the 3 days we were there

Unwelcoming start with the happy end
It started on a sour note. When we arrived to check-in we were told that due to "something" (probably double booking) there is no room for us and we need to stay at another hotel for one night, then to check in back to Alexandra. The clerk was quite unpleasant. No apologies for this inconvenience. He claimed that he emailed us which apparently was a lie as we have never received any emails regarding hotel unavailability. I asked if the substitute hotel is comparable, he assured us that its even better (4 stars). We don't know how that hotel got 4 stars, it seemed like no more than 2. The hotel name was Hotel Sistina- shabby, outdated, run down furniture, dirty carpets, with very mediocre breakfast. Very unpleasant experience. But...when we came back to Alexandra the next day we were upgraded to the room with the terrace, with the view of Rome to die for. Starting from there everything was great: attentive stuff (luckily we didn't deal with that unpleasant grumpy clerk), great room, nice breakfast. The location is great. We would definitely recommend hotel Alexandra, but please stay away from their "better" substitute Hotel Sistina.
