One of the best decisions we made for our trip!
We stayed here 5 nights during Carnival, and the hotel turned out to be one of the best decisions we made for our trip. First, the hotel is in one of the nicest and safest neighborhoods. It is fairly quiet (which is nice when catching up on sleep) yet conveniently located just one block from the beach and only a few blocks from a metro stop. This made it easy to get to most things in Rio when not taking an Uber, which are fairly cheap as well. The hotel staff were also very friendly and helpful. They spoke English well and were able to answer any questions we had about Carnival and Rio in general. A nice plus was that they provided beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas free of charge. As for the rooms, we knew they would be a little on the small side for 2 people going into it, but they were still modern and comfortable. Wifi worked well. Hotel breakfast has a decent spread of options including made-to-order omelets. Overall would definitely stay again!

Location is its only pro
Worn out hotel. Problems with noise, excess light in rooms and unreliable shower. Check-in was delayed. Overpriced. Location is very good, though.

Location says it all
The location of this property is everything. So much so that it makes you overlook some of the other deficiencies. The staff is really top notch for a boutique hotel. The restaurant is quite good. The cleanliness of the bathrooms could use some work, hair dryers not in good condition in both rooms we stayed. But I would say overall the welcoming attitude of everyone on property really overcame any shortcomings. So many delicious things to shop, eat, drink and beach at your fingertips.

Excellent as always
The hotel is fantastic as always. This is my preferred option when I have to stay at Rio. My only concern at my last trip was about a small group of Argentinian guys that was doing a lot of noise at my floor.

Super
The staff were very nice and friendly. The breakfast in the Quitéria were superb as were meals and happy hour which was 2 hours. The hotel is within easy walking of the sea and metro and a lot of shops restaurants and bars. The beach looks lovely. Our room was a bit cramped although we had a superking size bed.

Great location, staff, breakfast. Rooms basic.
Amazing location, very helpful staff, great bar (happy hour between 6-8pm) and great breakfast. Rooms are quite basic/small, however not that problematic as we didn't spend much time in there as so much great stuff to do outside. Free rental of towels, umbrellas and loungers for the beach was much appreciated as well.

Cute Boutique Find
The Ipanema Inn was a great place to stay as a solo traveler and I would definitely go back if I am ever in rio again. The front desk team, especially Marco was so helpful and kind. The location was great, walking distance to all the main shopping and restaurants and also had a security guard out front in addition to being a block from the beach. The only thing I could comment on was the cleanliness of the bathroom. There was hair and the shower had not been cleaned well. But other than that the room was small, tidy, but efficient.
