Very Good 8.0
The Nikko is a nice hotel, very well situated in the center of Kyoto, only 2 short blocks from the Subway station. Property is clean, quiet, well maintained. Rooms are a bit on the small side...bathroom is large but you give it up in the rest of the room. Service is outstanding, staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is standard buffet fare, but not overdone.

Great stay at an immaculate hotel
From check in to breaking a large bill into smaller ones, to checking out, this hotel was overly accommodating to our needs. Our "Premium Semi Double Room" was clean spic-and-span every single day due to the phenomenal housekeeping crew (who, by the way, always said good morning when I'd pass them in the hallway). Water pressure in the shower was super powerful and a marked differences from a previous hotel we'd stayed at. Felt squeaky clean after each and every shower!

Not worth it. There are better options in Kyoto.
Needs a refurbishing. Not up to Nikko standards in other cities. Too expensive considering a very standard room.

Not worth the money
Very disappointing for a 4* hotel. We asked for double rooms but were only offered twins. The location and bathroom were good but generally not worth the money.
