Restaurant is great but breakfast sorely overpriced. Paid as much for breakfast as dinner! Yet breakfast was hardly as noteworthy. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Common areas need a little tlc

stay with food restriction
First time we were faced with no food to bring into the motel room . As we have many food restriction we did not feel comfortable to bring our healthy food to our room. We enjoyed to be close to the lake as we could walk there and play the Alphorn.

Great location
Excellent location. Meagan in front desk was very friendly and helpful. Room was nice and bed was comfortable. Our only negative would be the restaurant. Food was just alright not great. If we stayed here again, I think we would eat elsewhere. The server was friendly though.

A very "rustic" stay
Location is obviously fantastic! The staff were friendly and helpful. I had booked a double bed in the "lodge" and rustic would be a nice way of saying Welcome back to 1885. We're pretty adaptable travellers but they need to do some more modern updates to these rooms. Either take down a wall and join the two small rooms together, add in a luggage holder, a dresser, a proper table or get a lamp that has a USB/outlet charger would be a HUGE step up. I enjoy the old heritage building exterior and interior and the history but its 2020 and a few modern touches would do wonders to this place! Just note there is no elevator, only one outlet in the room(behind the bed), and no tv.

Poor 2.0
Terrible, Not recommended.
We were looking forward to staying at this hotel as it looks wonderful on the website. how wrong we were. The room was tiny and the decor is old and tatty, as is hotel itself. We stayed during the pandemic and were expecting the room to be super clean but the reality was just the opposite. we found hairs in the bath tub and on the tiles surrounding it. the toilet base had dried... stains on the side of it both yellow and brown which we found disgusting and unhygienic. The toilet itself rocked from side to side as you sat on it which was both worrying and unnerving. The taps on the sink were both loose on the basin so every time you used them they span around. When we tried to use the phone to call reception we found that that it didn't work. The dark brown bed quilt had disgusting white stains across it so we ended up not using it. Due to the pandemic, all accessories (coffee maker, hairdryer etc) had been removed from the room but we could request for them to be brought up. When I set up the coffee maker i found that there was only one plug socket in the bedroom which was between the bedframe and the wall, absolutely no use whatsoever. There was a shaving socket next to the sink in the very tiny bathroom so we ended up sitting the coffee maker on top of the rocking toilet cistern and running the power cable across the sink into the shaving socket, very unsafe. We payed $170 for the night and we expected better but I would NOT recommend this hotel.

Fair 4.0
In need of an upgrade.
Unfortunately very disappointing. The hotel is in need of some serious TLC. The other properties are gorgeous (Emerald Lake and Buffalo Mountain Lodge), it`s almost as though they forgot about this one. For the cost our experience was sub-par with respect to the lodge. The restaurant food was okay, but again for the cost, not much value. Sadly will not stay again until some upgrades and renos have occurred.

Great location
Great location to get to the lakes early. Building is old and creaky but room was clean and bed comfortable.

Poor 2.0
Dirty
Terrible hotel. It’s like the bates motel. The water in the bath tub and sink would back up every time you turned on the water. The place is old and run down. The only good thing it was close to lake Louise other than that, terrible. I will never stay there again, i was better of sleeping in my car.
