The neighborhood where Courtyard By Marriott Downtown FLL is located used to be a slum back in the 1970s and 1980s. In the past few years, it was rezoned, and a development known as Quantum Flagler Village was built. The Courtyard by Marriot is somehow a part of and not a part of. This group. The pool you see in Courtyard by Marriotts advertising does not belong to the hotel. It is open to guests of the hotel, but you will not want to use it. It is an FLL hot spot club with raging loud music, and a filthy pool which on the Sunday morning we visited was filled with discarded drinks, cups, limes, and even dinner napkins. A dedicated entrance from the street allows any person access to the floor 9 rooftop pool from the hotel's ground floor. The Easton Rooftop Bar and Lounge host parties on weekends and also leases space to private parties. On the day we stayed the 2nd floor lobby where you check in held an all-day FashionWeek Model Casting call. I stood in the lobby with my innocent 15-year old and watched as hopefuls arrived in stilettos and bikinis. There were almost a hundred people trying to squeeze in to be discovered. We went to our room and stayed behind the door. At 4 pm some unknown woman tried to get into our room. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised as there is no security to this building whatsoever. .
