Best stay of our entire trip in Japan
Our specific room had a magnificent view of the skyline and an overhead view of the famous crosswalk. The location is right in a mall, right across from a very busy and lively area with tons of stores and places to eat within a minimal walking distance. The staff were well versed in English and there even a bus that's fairly cheap that takes you straight to the airport and terminal!

Amazing Location!!!!!
Excel Shibuya is nothing short of amazing. For the value and for Tokyo - you cant get anything better. The rooms are not huge (but this is Tokyo). Shibuya is a really happening place (a bit touristy) - but then we were tourists so it was perfect! Restaurants open till late. Gaming / bars / izakayas / shopping - you name it! The hotel is located over the subway and over a mall (Mark City) - so without having to go out - you can get almost anything you want (but dont do that - you should go out :) ).

Amazing, would stay here over and over
Spent one week here this month, and loved it! The location can't be better if you like to be in the center of the action. My room was for 4 people (hard to find in Tokyo!), and of course it seems small to north americans, but it's BIG by Japanese standards. Besides, you're only there to sleep, and maybe eat something in your room, right? Very comfortable beds, great views (HUGE windows), and a perfect view of the Shibuya Scramble from the window at the elevators. The 25th floor restaurants have views that are outstanding. The western style buffet breakfast is very good, but 2800 yen (really standard price for hotel breakfasts, anywhere). No pool (if there is, we couldn't find it). Friendly, courteous staff. Downstairs (1F) is Shibuya Mark City, a huge mall, and in their basement is Tokyo Foodshow. Hungry? You can get anything here, including wine and whisky to bring home. Almost all malls have their food courts in the basement. ATMs are everywhere, with one being right by the main street entrance. We travelled with our two teen daughters, and they loved everything about the hotel, and location. JR Line is right in front (Shibuya Station), and subway tickets can be purchased at the machines (check the map, figure out where you want to go, and the price from that station is noted above it)

Very Good8.0
Right in the heart of it all
Location couldn't have been better - the hotel is located right above Shibuya station and in front of the world's largest intersection. Hundreds of restaurants and bars nearby, also close to Tokyu Hands, Uniqlo and Loft stores. Jump on the subway and you can get anywhere in the city within a easy reach. The room itself was small, but this is Japan. Water pressure in the shower was one of the best I've ever found in a hotel room. Very limited English channels, just BBC and CNN, but you're not in Tokyo to watch tv. Downstairs is Shibuya Mark City, with connection to Tokyu Food Show in the basement, so was very handy to pick up food goodies. This was our 2nd time at the Shibuya Excel Tokyu and we will definitely stay again next time.
