    Love this Hotel

I love this hotel They have a really nice restaurant downstairs with some great food. The rooms are really nice. It's a older hotel but the rooms are nice clean and unique. They are nice size bathroom. The train comes by but it has never bothered me.

    Transitions not a problem

With the pandemic and their renovation the staff did a great job of taking care of us.

Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Check-in service was courteous and friendly. However, for some reasons, no one came to clean the room for 4 days. There was no telephone in the room for you to call housekeeping or the front desk. And when I wanted to complain at the front desk, there was no one at front desk at all during check out. And on Sunday, this place provides ZERO service - front desk, housekeeping, and etc. Even all the doors to outside were locked in the middle of day, making it very inconvenient if you need to go out. And as a result, again I had no one to complain to about the situation regarding housekeeping on Sunday.

    Great location, weird smell

Loved the location and the history of the hotel. Lots of options in downtown for food, drink, shopping, etc. that were walkable. Street parking available right by the hotel. The problems with the hotel were the smells! There was a strange musty odor that I noticed immediately upon entering the premises and the same smell was in the hallways and other public areas. It was fainter in the room itself but still somewhat noticeable. We had looked forward to checking out the Speakeasy in the basement of the hotel, but did not realize that it allowed cigar smoking. As soon as the elevator door opened in the basement, we were greeted with extreme cigar smoke smells. We closed the elevator door as quickly as possible and headed across the street to 3rd Floor Cantina which was a much better choice - good drinks and good live music!

A clean safe example of what staying at a hotel used to be. Very good to see people at their bar enjoying life.
