The rooms are well appointed and stylish. Clean and comfortable. It’s a short bus ride to the center. Only thing to complain about was that the WiFi was terrible and mostly didn’t work.

My friends and I fell in love with this nicely decorated hotel. The room was so beautiful we didn’t want to leave!

Our executive room was large and very comfortable. Dinners in the Bothy were good value and high quality. We were sorry we had to leave after two of our scheduled four nights when Covid restrictions meant the hotel was forced to close. Management moved us to another of their hotels -The Scotsman hotel in Edinburgh centre - which was a generous gesture in the circumstances.

Great hotel and staff, few improvements possible
The hotel was lovely and the staff were brilliant, very helpful, approachable and just lovely. I don't have any complaints per se, just a couple of comments on how I feel things could be improved. 1) there was no lamp in my room which meant I only had the lights on full or off, not ideal when you need the loo in the middle of the night. I was given one from another room when I asked fornone though. 2) no chair in my room so my clothes were either on my bed or when I was in bed, on the floor. Again, one was brought to my room when I asked for it. 3) My room faced the main road which was very noisy from 6am. Whilst the curtains were blackout and did an exceptional job, the traffic woke me early. Rooms facing the road could perhaps benefit from double glazing, even secondary. 4) the breakfast was continental, which I was fine with however for £7.50, I felt the choice was limited. Cereal (coco pops, rice crispies, single pack weetabix, bran flakes or cornflakes), with apple, cranberry or orange juice. There was toast, croissants and granola with yogurt and compote, as well as salmon/ham/cheese if wanted, brought to the table on afternoon tea platters but it all felt very bread heavy. No fruit, no yogurts, no pastry options and the pirtiin of granola was very, very small! Quite disappointing even though it was all tasty! Wouldn't be enough to stop me goung back however as the hotel was perfectly situated for me :)

Great location
We had a three night stay in Edinburgh, hotel was easy to find driving from Glasgow, plenty of car parking available, located near Murrayfield and on the main bus route into the city, bus stop fifty yards from the hotel, all day ticket £4-50, jump on and off all over the city. Only 10 minutes to Princes Street. Didn't eat at the hotel but restaurant was always busy. 20 minutes walk to the zoo and 5 minutes to the Cocobean cafe for breakfast. Try and find get a room higher up as we were woken by deliveries and staff members.

The room was great, just up a couple sets of stairs, so not ideal with cases etc. We were told we'd have a free continental breakfast, which must have been withdrawn at some point (not communicated until the morning when asking for it). Overall lovely.
