Staff was excellent, rooms needed updating, location very good. We stayed one night on the 18 and came back from the 22-24 Jan. Our 3 day stay the bed was too soft and it caved in, forgot to mention it when we checked out. Surprised they would of not changed that.

Royal Kona is definitely a bit of an older place, but it was comfortable, the views spectacular and the service was excellent. I give it a solid 8/10.

Lovely Views
The grounds and amenities of the resort are beautiful. The rooms are a bit dated and I found the beds to be a little bit to firm for my preference. The staff are wonderful and if you have a problem they work hard to rectify it.

Hate to say it.
We adore the Royal Kona and have stayed here before. The atmosphere cannot be beat for a traditional Hawaiian feel. The food and drinks are absolutely amazing. Our room however was very disappointing-it was very dirty with grunge in the corners and a damaged toilet seat in the bathroom. The sheets and carpets were stained and it was overall in need of major repair and replacement. We paid extra for ocean front, which was beautiful but the room was so disgusting it left us wishing we had stayed elsewhere. We hate to say it but we would never stay here again. For the money the King Kamehameha is a far better value if you want ocean front.
