I stayed at the Intercontinental in Istanbul at least four times. I’ve always been happy with everything in the hotel. The reason I am not giving it full five stars is that some of the rooms are dated and need work, otherwise it is five star property! Particularly the staff at the reception desk. One of them, whose name I cannot recall, was very helpful in resolving an issue we had with our rooms! That’s important to me because in the event that something is wrong, and it happens in any hotel, what’s important is how promptly and efficiently the hotel is willing to deal with it, and in this hotel they always do!
