Excellent find - perfect family getaway.
This was a really great find in San Diego. We were very happy with the location, great for walking to all the local hot spots. The hotel was definitely set up like a resort, videos on selected evening, yoga on the beach, and even a boat ride all included in our stay. The room was nice, view exceptional as they upgraded us to a bay view. The only recommendation I could think of is the bathroom is a getting little outdated. Aside from this, the service was awesome, fruit basket dropped off for our stay and lots of animal, ducks, parrots, and fish which was great for our son. All things said, this was a very great stay and we would consider staying here again if we came back to the area.

Cal vacation
Second time visiting. The location is great as you have beautiful scenery along with access to the pool, lagoon beach and the Pacific Ocean. It is reminiscent of Hawaii with its gardens and foliage. The service is great and people are friendly. Easy access to San Diego and its many attractions with the use of a car. I hope to come back soon!

Great staff but rooms need to be updated.
I would suggest readers take note of the less than great reviews, particularly those regarding the hotel condition. This hotel needs a MAJOR renovation the rooms are perhaps dated from the late 70's (in room microwave with dail knobs). Light switches not working, missing light bulbs etc. Despite their room conditions the staff are unbelievably nice. They all stop what they are doing to great you, great service with a smile. The location is also very good. Too bad The rooms don't match the other factors otherwise I would give this place 5 stars.

Great restaurant, bad rooms
Loved that the hotel is right on the bay and a short walk to the ocean. Loved the awesome food at the hotel bar and restaurant, the cute ducks and all the greenery. Did not love the rooms with thin walls or the stinky waterfall in the lobby. Had to move rooms after the first night because they put us beside the staff hallway, generator, and ice machine. The whole hotel needs an update and the bed and pillows are a bit rough. Seemed consistent for the area, though. There's an awesome taco place near the hotel which was delicious and the hotel is a half hour walk to Belmont park. I also am still confused about how they did the room charges even asking several times. There's a cool boat ride across the bay that they offer some months that's free to guests, I didn't get a chance to try it but looks awesome. Next time, I'll do a beach apartment rental on the boardwalk.
