The property was gorgeous, the staff were super friendly and helpful. We were given early check in at no extra charge. Our room was clean and comfortable, we truly could not have asked for a better experience.

I liked all the statues and art pieces around the property. It is a very nice looking resort. The bed was comfortable and our room location was quiet which was nice. The amenities was lacking as I found their spa services to be very basic and their restaurants to be overly expensive. The rail train, although cute was slow and did not run regularly enough to be really useful.

Although the property is beautiful and there is plenty to do, be prepared to be over charged for everything. Breakfast buffet for $40USD and many restaurants have weird hours making it hard to get food when you want. We stayed in the ocean tower and had what sounded like hundreds of birds fly in at 7pm and 5am every day and made so much noise it was impossible to sleep. We heard from a local that the resorts poison the birds before peak tourism time to deal with the complainants. Additionally, there are cockroaches near the pool area - watch where you step. Staff were nice but constantly trying to get you to sign up for more activities to spend more money. When there was a problem and we complained they said the manager would be in contact with us - that never happened. We were so tried we just paid our gigantic bill and checked out. We will not stay here again and would caution others against it - it is not an authentic Hawaiian experience rather a tourist trap.

Great variety of swimming spots and onsite activities. The room was clean and well maintained. Unfortunately there was a lot of maintenance work being done during our stay. The tram was only partially operational (and SO slow) and there was grounds work being done outside our room which woke us up in the mornings. While having options to get to the towers by boat or tram was quaint, it took so long that walking was often the preferred choice.

Check in/check out very easy. Room and services as expected. Reasonably priced on package deal. We liked proximity to many island beaches and other activities. Driving on island is easy, so toured many sites. Enjoyed Aloha spirit and respect for all. Fun, easy trip for families with lots of educational opportunities: went to Living History coffee farm, Volcano visitor centre, Hilo Astrological Centre, and Luao at Hilton. Great trip!
