Welcoming staff. We got a good sleep. Good location. Very impressive for a hotel rated 2 stars. Could easily be compared to most of the 3 star hotels we’ve stayed, plus we’d give an 8/10 rating.

Lovely and friendly
Very impressed by this hotel, lots of charm and the staff is so friendly. The location is really good , right next to Perrache station in a quiet street. I used to be a student in Lyon 25 years ago, therefore I never stayed in hotels! I won’t even look for another hotel for my next stay

The room was incredibly small, but I was only staying for one night, so it was adequate for my needs. I was able to leave my suitcase at the hotel before check-in. It had already been taken to my room by the time I returned, which was nice. The 24-hour front desk staff was helpful as I checked in very late and checked out very early.

Staff is friendly and very helpful. Front desk is staffed 24 hours. Breakfast available on site; either buffet or continental at reasonable price. Grocery nearby for additional needs. Close to park and many restaurants, specifically F/B around the corner. The chef does it all and it’s fabulous! Love the bed and breakfast feel of this hotel. Rooms not huge but super clean and perfect for the needs of this traveling couple!

Home Away From Home!
We stayed at the Hotel du Simplon on two different occasions during the World Cup. While we took a two day break, the hotel was kind enough to store our extra luggage until we returned. Our rooms were not huge, just big enough for the two of us. If you need a large room, this hotel is not for you. However if you want to stay at a hotel with fantastic customer service; that feels like a house, then this is your place. The owner is very proud of his two hotels in Lyon. They have been in his family for a long time. The rooms are small but clean and efficient. There is breakfast onsite for 12€, which has everything you need and is much more convenient than searching for breakfast elsewhere. The front desk is 24 hours, which means you turn in your key when you leave and retrieve it when you come back. No losing this key! We really enjoyed this hotel and would return if we come back to Lyon.

Good location for bellecour but unfortunately like a lot of places in Lyon far too expensive. This is a 2 star hotel charging 4 star prices. The staff were pleasant and helpful but as I said the price of the hotel room was greatly inflated. Would not return.
