Okay stay in Hell’s Kitchen
I’m used to spending time in hotels with a welcoming lobby (hello Marlton and Ludlow), but there is no such lobby here. Accommodations are cuter than the standard chain hotel, but not at the level of a boutique hotel. Street is pretty congested, so be prepared to wait longer than normal wait times for Uber if that is your mode of transportation. Lastly, I made a 2-night reservation and added a 3rd night at the last minute via a separate reservation. The first request to refresh the room resulted in a full refresh, including making the bed. This is in line with what I’ve received at other hotels. The second request to refresh the room resulted in taking out the trash and restocking fresh towels. When I asked why the room hadn’t been completely refreshed, I was told that basic housekeeping doesn’t include making the bed and an upcharge of $15 would be required for that service. That would have been fine with me, but by the time I returned to my room it was 7pm and no longer an option. I wish the hotel would have communicated that in the beginning.

A perfect little cubbyhole of a room, with a comfy bed and blackout blinds. A sweet little built-in place to sit, but not really suitable for working at—but this trip was all about fun so that didn't matter to me

*spotless, quiet and suffiently dark room *friendly, very responsive staff *excellent location *roof top terrace (which i didnt manage to visit) and happy hours The stay was excellent, location is perfect to get easily around to the many locations one might want to see, of quickly drop back in after a morning excursion before the evening adventures. The room was spotless , very quiet, had blackout blinds although some light still came in. For the room I was in, they didnt do up the room every day but if u leave the door sign with the request for cleaning, they will. Some suggestions for eating ( advised to me by locals, on 9th avenue, 5 minutes walking) Hudson Bagels and mamas empanadas - u'll be glad u tried them :)

I wanted to like this hotel. And granted it’s nice, clean, and conveniently located. Staff was nice. However, it feels like guests are a bit secondary. I was there a week. Most days models and photographers were running in and out for photoshoots at the hotel - which fine. But, they often were rather annoyed with guests trying to also use the elevators. The the rooftop bar meant one elevator was roped off at night solely to send people up to a party or VIP thing. The elevators were a bit slow already, and being down one was annoying - especially trying to get in for the night. Also Thursday - Saturday if you are a few floors under the rooftop you will have to endure the thumping bass of the music. I almost felt in the way of all these non-guest activities/people. Again, rooms were clean but HORRIBLE shower design. Less than half a door which meant the floor was SOAKED every time I showered, because the slightest movement sent the water out…and there was nothing to stop it. AC control was a pain. Never fully figured it out and fairly certain they had the ability to override it as temperature changed constantly and it would often shut completely off without me doing it.
