Very Good8.0
Loved it, loved the location, breakfast was good, staff was friendly. Found it funny that they advertise great beds on the main sign yet it was lumpy and the pillows were horrendous. I still, however, enjoyed my stay and would go back.

Hotel Elliott, Astoria
My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Elliott for my birthday weekend. We stayed on the 4th floor and the room was nice and clean, but later that evening, after we had supper, we walked into the room and it was scorching hot, in February. We immediately open the windows and turn the ceiling fan on, heat off, but there was little relief that night. We didn't sleep at all. We had to have the windows open so we heard traffic and we are extremely hot. The next morning, I went down to notify the front desk to see if we could get a room change. The girls at the front desk, said there were full and there were no empty rooms. But they were helpful and gave us a fan to use. So we put the fan in the window in hopes to cool it down. The second night again was hot despite the ceiling fan, windows open, and additional fan in the window. I was so disappointed. At checkout I told the front desk, the front desk lady(which was a different person) didn't even look me in the eye and gave me a weak I'm sorry. They didn't comp my room or give me a voucher for another stay. You'd think that would be the least they should do. It was my birthday weekend, and I'll always remember it as a miserable experience at the Hotel Elliot.

Time travel is real
The building is beautiful and comforting, the staff both friendly and professional. We stayed one night in a Queen Deluxe room, then upgraded to a Guest Suite for two more nights. Both rooms were comfortable and decorated nostalgically, though I must say having a couch to relax on in the suite was preferrable for a winter stay. Breakfast was quite good, and the hotel's location in the middle of town meant we didn't need our car all weekend. We'll be coming back often.
