The Anchorage Inn is going through a lengthy renovation. Some will be put off but the unsightly nature of this. However, the rooms are clean and comfortable. We are frequent guests.

When registering to stay there, I was made aware that this Inn was undergoing extensive renovations. That is what we experienced, thus the ratings. Our room was Ok, but my wife was unable to take a desired shower,as the shower had no bars to hold on to as is now customary in showers. Being age 86 and handicapped, bars are a necessity. Receptionist Anna was great, however... a much welcome person in view of the Inn's condition. The elevator in the West Wing where we stayed makes a terrible '"thud" noise each and every time used... truly scary!

Staff is great!
The hotel is being renovated, so bumps were to be expected. The staff was excellent. The check in was great, then when there was a problem with our room, they changed us immediately, and apologized. We inadvertently left some items in the room. They called us as soon as they discovered it, called, and were extremely nice when we stopped back. This staff is A+!

If you have a choice of hotels, skip this place
The hotel is under reconstruction which lessens its overall appeal. The method for doling out breakfast is rather odd. I was required to order my breakfast sandwich the evening before, then I needed to microwave it in my room. As with other hotels these days, there is no housekeeping service and guests are encouraged to reuse towels. For the prices one pays, this is doesn't entice me to travel. The desk staff were friendly and professional. My criticism applies solely to the condition of the property and the policies that dictate how the business is managed.
