Dooleys Hotel Waterford City, Waterford
Noisy and inconvenient
Our room had a lot of noise from the street noise and pub across. Reception area doesn’t provide free printing for boarding passes.the staff was helpful and did check in and print out my boarding pass but it’s inconvenient.

Surprisingly quiet
This surprisingly affordable little hotel was a treat to be in. Well maintained older building, with plenty of space in the room. Comfy beds and everything was spotless. We were in extension, which meant a few stairs to climb, which was OK with us, but if you have problems, make sure you ask for a room in original building. The pub and restaurant were both excellent and bar staff very helpful and friendly.

ups and downs
The hotel was clean but it appears aged and dated. Their internet service was terrible, and when we spoke to the manager about it he said he would put in a call to their support and hear back in 24 hrs. Even in the lobby it would drop. The beef stew tasted from a can but the prawns were quite good. Breakfast was warm and plentiful but the coffee and tea were poor. The elevator was slow and we walked the stairs 90 % of the time. Good security features with entry cards needed to get into the elevator and stairwells.

5 weeks abroad.
The room was large, but with no a/c had to open the window for air. But with the noise from the side street we had to shut it again. Only curtains on the window, no sheers, so fully exposed to the opposite building. We had a king bed, comfortable, as were the pillows. The soap dispenser over the bath didn’t work, had that fixed. It’s a lovely big hotel, in the evening lots of atmosphere with music and singing. Lots of areas to sit around. The restraunt was very nice and the service and the meal good.

Nice place to stay
Very friendly hotel checkin- staff very informative and helpful. Parking is not terribly convenient-you have to park across a busy street. Also the room was not air conditioned so even on a day where the high was around 20 Celsius the room was uncomfortably warm. The chairs and bed in the room were comfortable and the room was very clean.
