Very Good8.0
Great location for universities; very walkable
Perfect location for a conference at John Moores University and University of Liverpool; you'll never need a taxi, you can walk everywhere including to the train station. Rooms are lovely and large, but lack of A/C means having to leave the windows open, and that's noisy. And no elevator, which can make carrying your bags and even going in and out a bit of a challenge.

Property condition does not match the amount you charge, reasonable room rate should be 50 pounds or less regardless of the season. I felt even shy to bring over my friends....what is portrayed on the website/adverts is quite different from the reality...its too much to charge 101 pounds per night...I was really shocked when I arrived at the hotel and you were very clever to ask me to pay upfront for the 7 nights..otherwise I would have moved immediately.....IN SHORT, THE HOTEL CONDITION DID NOT MEET MY EXPECTATIONS...TOO OLD INSIDE NEEDS REFURBISHMENT....OUTSIDE IT IS UNDERSTANDABLE LIKE MANY OTHER HOTELS IN EUROPIAN COUNTRIES..IMPROVE PLEASE

Great Location but no Wifi
We stayed there recently. The biscuits with the tea were very nice. The room was on the top floor and the Wifi did not work. My requests for help went no where. I wish there were a mechanism to refund part of the hotel charges if the promised amenities are not delivered or available. This reduces the "Bait and Switch" that victimizes customers. Otherwise every property will boast of amenities which are "unavailable sorry" or "sorry not working" or "Its a maintainance issue" or "it was working yesterday" and quietly pocket the money. The customer, tired after a flight has no option but to accept the inevitable, cringe and go to bed. Perhaps hotels.com could come up with an option that says Wifi guaranteed or your money back and that would help people make appropriate reservations.

Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel ,room was clean, staff friendly breakfast was good value for money . Hotel staff were brilliant as I requested when booking a room no higher than 1st floor due to having arthritis.and on arrival I was allocated a ground floor room (no lifts in hotel) and even let me check in earlier on arrival. Room has tea/coffee making facilities.bed was comfy .very handy situated for concerts at the Philamonic hall . I will definitely book this hotel again when I'm next at a concert .

Poor
Nice area, good breakfast. The room was old and tired. Mattresses have large indents in from age, very uncomfortable, terrible nights sleep. It was hot weather and the thick duvet was for the winter, no sheets or lighter covers were provided. Small windows with poor ventilation. Will not stay here again.
