Good amenities on the property and is close to downtown. Bus stop is right in front and the Complimentary bus pass is very helpful in getting around. Wish the fitness centre equipment were in better condition. Older property, but kept in good condition.

Good for families
Wouldn’t book here unless it wasn’t for the amenities for kids. The property is dated and a little maze like. The pull out couch was very uncomfortable. But it gave us something to do with the kids during very cold weather so it was worth it in the end.

Good family spot
Was a pretty good place. Older but maintained. Didn’t have great hot water. Bed and pillows were not wonderful, but not the worst I’ve used either. The on property stores are closed down now. Could have used them but not really the properties fault.

Needs an overhaul
We have been to Douglas Fir on numerous occasions, but our past visit may be our last. Cleanliness in all areas of the resort needs to be improved before we would return. Our hotel room was dirty, the pool area was generally unclean and had feces in the hot tub, and the fireplace in our room did not ventilate properly despite the chimney flue being fully open. The only way to clear the smoke was to leave our patio door and hallway door wide open while contending with cold winter weather in our room for an hour. We also overheard that this issue was not new, so maybe hotel management needs to let guests know that the wood burning fireplaces aren't working properly and shouldn't be used. When we informed the hotel staff of these deficiencies, all they could offer was 20% off, which was not nearly enough compensation in our minds.

4/10 Fair

We stayed in a one bedroom apt room, not sure I would go back anytime soon. Website advertised that they supply wood for the in room wood fire places which was our primary reason for booking this place. We had a room with a gas fireplace that barely worked with zero flame. When we mentioned it at the front desk they didn't care and brushed it off like no big deal. The counter tops were dirty and needed a wipe down prior to us being able to use them. Found old food (gummy bears) in the corner of the living room.
