Excellent Hotel.
Once again an excellent stay at The Maldron Hotel. Was warmly greeted by Bijay at reception who assisted us with room selection for our stay of three days. The room was clean and perfect, the bathroom was also spotless. The bed was very comfortable resulting in a good nights sleep. The restaurant buffet breakfast was comprehensive, the choice was excellent and well cooked. We were greeted by Kayode there who remembered us from a previous stay with a beaming smile and once again was very helpful. We thoroughly recommend this hotel to any one for its first class hospitality and easy access to the city centre.

Thanks for a very enjoyable stay
A very pleasant and comfortable hotel with very willing and helpful staff. The room was well appointed with coffee and tea facilities and the bathroom had lovely double shower. We liked the open breakfast room which doubled as a bar/restaurant later in the day. Breakfast was good value with a selection of cold and hot foods. I would have rated it 5 stars for value, staff and comfort but we had a couple of housekeeping issues.

Location matters
Initially offered room 213 which is an absolute no as it's level with and right next to rail tracks, also looks onto back road which is used as a late night toilet. The room is fine but it's all about location. Thankfully hotel not full and easy to change to the better side.

Nice hotel but issues with heating
Nice hotel with comfortable room, cheap TV though! Heating was broken and altough this was reported and I was advised it would be fixed it wasnt! I was offered a change of room when I reported the issue but it wasn't unbearably cold fortunately so I said it would be fine as long as it was fixed on the second day of my stay but it wasn't!

Okay stay
The hotel has a nice stylish lobby upon entry and is located 15mins walk from the centre. There were lots of places to eat nearby with food transport links. The room was a good size that offered a view of a slightly run down building next door, something my friend and I wasn't too bothered by. The only issue we had with our stay was the room cleaning. Mostly everything was cleaned to a good standard apart from the bed which was never made with new sheets, the old sheet was thrown across to make it look made. I would stay here again but the cleaning of the room needs to be improved.

Overall - brilliant stay.
Hotel is fantastic, very quiet location and the staff I met were very friendly and polite. I had an issue with the temperature of my room, its was absolutely freezing to the point I was sleeping with a coat but when informed the staff sorted me out within twenty minutes. Rooms are very quiet and to a rather high standard. Overall, the location was good and I would recommend.

Too noisy
The first room was way too hot and noisy from constant trains passing the hotel. The bedside lamp didn’t work. I notified front desk and an alternate room was offered. Not much sleep that night. The second room was a bit better and the aircon functioned but it is centrally controlled - the clerk said he would alter the temperature setting but nothing happened and no update. Despite asking for a quiet room and being told we were being moved to a quieter room, the constant trains were in fact louder. To cool the room during the day we left the window ajar however the window handle was faulty and difficult to use. The safe in the room didn’t work. We had no appetite to call reception again about problems with a second room. The staff however were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ok and fairly standard. Overall we’d stay somewhere else next time mainly for a restful sleep.
