Do not book this hotel. I checked in at the front desk and was given a TV remote and a room card. Then was told that when I go out of the hotel, I had to return the card for security reasons. As I walk towards my room, the present of smoke was making me sick.. The key card that I was given did not work. I had to go back out to get another card. Again the hallway was fill with smoke. I open my room door and was by hit the smell of strong cleaning solution and an unpleasant odour. So I were back to the front desk and told the guy I can not stay under this condition, since I did ask for a non smoking room. He showed me a another room but it also had the same smell. Then he suggested the smell was weed. He also said that me getting sick from the smoke is my own problem. So that is the kind of service you can expect at this hotel. I had booked for two nights but that was a big mistake. This is the worst hotel experience ever. I went to look for another hotel.

We stayed 2 nights and the room served our purpose well. The staff were friendly and helpful. They allowed us to store our luggage before check-in and after check-out so we could continue to explore Amsterdam. Our room overlooked the damrak street which is very busy and can be loud however it seemed to shut down around 11PM so it was a non-factor for sleeping. We were Monday and Tuesday night so that may be why it seemed to get quiet. Our room was clean and having 3 separate beds was nice.

Great location. Right in the heart of AMS so expect city noise in the morning. Close to everything and friendly staff.

    Not even worth considering

This hotel doesn't deserve to be called hotel. It's a hostel in bad shape at the most. The only good thing about this property is it's location in the city. The room we stayed in was dingy, old, dirty, moldy, had a musty smell to it and it's age was showing everywhere. We were gauged by paying almost 500.- Euros for three nights and couldn't believe, that this hotel is using the name of an international hotel brand to openly defraud international travellers.

Terrible rooms. Unable to stay in first room due to tiny size and incorrect bed types. Switched to scorchingly hot room on fourth floor. No air con, only a desk fan to move the hot air. View out the tiny window was of a wall about a metre away. Heard animals scratching in the ceiling.. bottom six inches of bathroom door frame completely wifi only for two devices. Breakfast was good. Front desk agent did her best to be helpful but like the saying goes she couldn't makes a silk purse out of a sow's ear. I've worked in mining camps in eastern africa that had better rooms.

Overpriced, guests not treated well, way too small

The cons: no food or drink in your hotel room (I've never seen that anywhere else in the world), way over priced when less than a block away the inntel hotel provides way better everything for not much more, the staff is rude with the exception of one girl, you can't bring visitor (like someone you met from home ) up to your room under any circumstances, alarms go off on all the suite doors for no reason - so you're either woken up or you wake someone up, and it's noisy overall. Also very hot and the rooms are smaller than I've ever seen - even for Europe. Pros: decent free breakfast, they'll clean your room if you ask nicely, close to a lot of fun stuff in the city. This is by far the worst hotel I've stayed at in my life. I left a day early and forfeited my final night just to get out of there. If I was to have anyone take my advice on just one travel item it would be not to stay here. Cons

Close to Amsterdam Central train station

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to Amsterdam Central train station. Stayed for only one night so I can't say that much. It was as expected, basic but well located and reasonable price comparing to other places in Amsterdam. It also included breakfast which although basic it was a plus. Internet WiFi is for free at the lobby area, but if you want a good connection at your room you must pay some additional fee (forgot how much, but was small).
