Good Experience with Family
I have been to 4-5 star hotels elsewhere in the Middle East and SE Asia. This is more like a 4 star hotel rather than a 5 star as advertised. Check-In-They initially gave us a smoking room when we had clearly requested non-smoking in the reservation (our baby and 3-year old should have been another clue...) It was corrected after I went back to the lobby to inform them. Buffet Breakfast-Generally good, but too many pastries and not enough authentic Arabic food. I ordered cappuccinos every morning and how good it was depended on who was making it. Housekeeping-Very good but inconsistent as it depended on the staff that cleaned your room. I want to thank Basma and Nour for the excellent job they did when they came to our room. Unfortunately I could not thank/tip them personally prior to our check-out. Room-It was spacious which we appreciated as we had two kids. The shower drain became clogged on the second day but they sent someone quickly to fix the issue. We had a poolside view with a balcony which I enjoyed. Room Service-We ordered a couple of times and it was good. After the first time, they gave us complimentary dessert which we appreciated. Laundry Service-Good but overpriced. Hotel Staff-Everyone was polite but they could be more friendly (smile a little more for example) and attentive. The breakfast service staff were too slow and sometimes needed to be reminded again. Overall it was a good experience for the 9 nights that we stayed and we would likely come again.

Not a 5 star hotel
A cold hotel in a small street cannot be a five star hotel. One lady at the front desk made lots hassle for us to check in for our kids, as Hotels.com consider a 17 years old person as a child, but they didn’t. Then they wanted to charge the breakfast for her. Not my fault that their reservation policy is different than Hotels.com. Also she was so rude that after giving not working room keys twice, she didn't bother herself to say sorry. Other than her, manager and all other staff were good and polite.

Great place to stay in Cairo
The place is great. The only complaint I had was that the water for my shower wouldn't be consistent (would randomly get really hot at times). Other than that, the entire place functioned like a 5* hotel.

Our room was comfortable and staff extremely helpful. Our only surprise, coming from France was the lack of any alcohol! However everyone helped overcome this very small detail and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Good hotel
It’s an older hotel but the service was really great. The manager and front desk people always went out of their way to accommodate us. The breakfast was good, the hot food Area is around the corner so don’t miss that part.

Location, service, accessibility, price
good location. Close to the metro station Dokki and you can reach most attractions by metro, which means no haggling with taxi. I even took metro line 3 to the closes station to airport and take bus to cover the rest. It cost me about EGP10 with no traffic jam. Giza pyramid in 40 mins by metro+bus and city center in 10 mins by metro. The service is good enough for 5 star. The facilities are a bit old but you get compensation from the price because it is cheaper comparing to another 5 star hotels. The running system is a bit absurd but it might be an Egyptian way. As a whole the hotel is satisfactory if you are not extremely picky. In addition they react right away to my complaints. extra....I liked Egyptian food Koshari. go out the hotel door and take left turn. You reach the big road and cross the street. There is a chain with green sign??. medium size Koshari for EGP12
