Great staff.
Staff was excellant. Nice touches with towel swans on bed, fresh fruit basket. Nice selection of tea. Nice cooked english breakfast. Room was warm, so had to have window open. Not much of door lock. There was a long black hair in tub, so housekeeping should have done final sweep. Convenient livatin.

Good place to stay
The tea/coffee station was very well put together. The breakfast was excellent. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful The wife worked well but stopped on the last day, so we could not check into our flight and check the route to the airport etc Over all a very positive experience.

Lovely weekend stay

Well; just for a night, when we were out for most of it, it was ok. The place is very tired. It has steep long stairs that many older/infirm people couldn’t deal with (no lift). The room had stains on the carpet, the heater didn’t work in the bathroom, the toilet cistern took 30 min between uses, the bathroom floor at the edges was dirty. Can’t remember the last time we had “blankets” only on a bed and no duvet. The windows are all original, ok we get that it will be a listed building and that window replacement would demand replacement with sash windows, but you can do that with wood double glazed units. The windows were paper thin, consequently the room was cold and you could hear every word voiced in the car park from the second floor. This place needs a major refurbishment, but because of its location the owners are milking it. We would suggest that unless you have to “stay local” that you avoid this place, especially if you are staying a few nights as a tourist (we were just there for a NYE party down the road). I will end this by saying that the staff were Co-operative and friendly and that the breakfast was ok. If the non NYE price for a room for two is about £50, then it can be closer seen as “value for money”...maybe?!
