Nice hotel right on the beach
Stayed here for 3 nights in January. Maybe not an obvious choice for a winter trip - the beach and the local neighbourhood (El Cabanyal) were very quiet, completely dead on weekdays but a little bit livelier on the weekend. The service was great though and it's a nice hotel. Note that the only pool open in winter (the indoor pool next to the spa) is quite small. It has no changing rooms so you need to put your swimmers on in your room and walk across to the other building, a bit chilly in the early morning! The pool wasn't too busy though. The narrow streets of El Cabanyal felt a little bit rough when deserted but I expect it would be a lovely place in warmer months. There is a great industrial chic bar (La Fabrica de Hielo) a short walk from the hotel. We took our two year old in there at 6pm on a Saturday and didn't feel out of place. There's a good breakfast place just around the corner on the beach called Boa Beach.
