A hotel gem

The location in Catania is ideal - at the beginning of Via Etnea, the main shopping street, within a short walking distance from the Metro. Rooms are large and comfortable, the rooftop restaurant has excellent service and great food.

The hotel is in dire need of remodelling, some of the areas are shabby. There are few public spaces and the dining options are very limited. The staff in the breakfast area and front desk were friendly and worked hard. Catania was once an attractive city. Neglect, graffiti and litter are my main memory. Easy access to Mt Etna, and numerous attractive surrounding areas are the only reason to stay there.

Great location, expected better customer service

We arrived at the hotel and realized there’s no AC in the rooms (there is but not for cold only heater), we also booked the hotel in part because we saw it has a roof top restaurant with great views and then found out we were not allowed because of a private event, the manager was helpful but very dry and short on words. Hotel is greatly located and in great condition, breakfast buffet is nice and rooms are very clean.

It was centrally located and the rooftop was great for drinks/dinner the first night upon arrival. The rooftop has a great view of the city. We had drinks there several times during our stay. The breakfast was very good. One in our group needed dairy free/vegan. They were better than most places, and there was a section identified on the menu, but she thought the options were limited. Overall, a very good experience!
