4/10 Fair

Our room wasn’t available when we arrived, we were arriving one day later and they didn’t let us update the dates of our stay, all of us got food poisoning - first time for me in Mexico; rooms are in poor condition; constantly not having enough water or towels in out room

4/10 Fair

The rooms were old and smelled stale and so did the sheets. AC in the room was not working and faucets were leaking. The food was just ok and it got old pretty quickly. The pool area is nice and the shows were decent, but not worth the time you have to spend in the old rooms.

6/10 Good

Property was beautiful and well kept. Food was sub-par as we enjoyed the food at Xel-ha much better than we did the resort. Unable to get into premium dining first 2 nights so forced to eat buffet entire first 2 days. Check-in could have been a better experience if resort offered some sort of activity guide or handout to help explain amenities, etc versus it taking a few days to get the hang of things. Staff was friendly but still had a tough time communicating with them.

8/10 Very good

Hotel is big and very green but if don’t like to walk much it might be an issue. - Good food in the buffet, great food in a la carte restaurants. - Rooms are outdated, need some renovation and refreshment. - In our reservation we asked for the first floor because we have a small child and a stroller but the hotel didn’t accommodate this request and we had to carry the stroller up and down the stairs all the time. We requested 1 king bed, they gave us 2 double beds so we had to sleep separately with my husband. - The night shows in the hotel are GREAT! One of the best I’ve seen in AI hotels. - Beach is a problem. Impossible to enter the water because of the reefs and stones. We couldn’t swim unfortunately. Overall, we had a good time there so I recommend this hotel if you don’t care much about the rooms and the beach.

2/10 Poor

I hate being the guest with the negative review, but my spouse and I stayed at TRS for 4 nights from the 24th - 28th of March and decided to extend our stay since we loved the resort and enjoyed the experience. Initially, we preferred to stay with TRS, however KANTENAH was $250 cheaper and had good reviews along with had a beachside suite. So I thought why not, and booked with KANTENAH instead. Once we arrived at the check in desk, the check-in lady, I believe her name was ‘Jocelyn’ was very rude to us. I recall myself being very polite to her and asked her questions respectfully. She appeared extremely bothered and at one point she displayed a very rude and dull response, “what else do you want” when I tried asking her a simple question. I do not understand what I said or did to this lady for her to treat me this way but the fact that she spoke to me disrespectfully in front of my spouse is completely unacceptable considering I spent almost $600 on this extra night. No one deserves to be disrespected this way especially when they spend great money to be here. On top of that, the check in lady was in a hurry the entire time and did not take any time to properly discuss the suite or any of the resort amenities with us. It would have been nice If we were educated on this rather than us having to ask her questions since that clearly made us feel like a burden to her. Later after she checked us in, my spouse returned to her in hopes of asking another question about one of the r

10/10 Exceptional

Positives: You can find solitude if you wish - at the beach or at the smaller pools. You don't have to wake up super early to find shade. There is an abundance of it. Of all, the mid-level all-inclusives, this has by far the best entertainment. They have a regular troupe of dancers who are fantastic. Room was clean. Shower & A/C worked fine. Negatives: They are short-staffed so service is not what I remember pre-pandemic. Staff is still super nice, but dining service is very slow & not particularly attentive. There are still some stars. I would suggest tipping when you find one & you'll get much better service throughout your visit. The food is not particularly good, but you should find something for lunch & breakfast buffets. I really didn't like the offering for the dinner buffet & the a la carte options were not very good & it was very hard to get reservations during the sweet spot between 7 & 8. There is no ice cream at the buffets. Some of the higher end food like bleu cheese was hit or miss. I will say that I thought their desserts were very good relative to other resorts. Also, the beach was only 'usable' during 2 of the 10 days we were there because of high winds & lots of sea algae. I don't know if that's the norm for late March. Overall: I would definitely go back because the resort hits my high points & I don't care that much about the low points.

8/10 Very good

Beautiful Resort with a lot of amenities. There is plenty to do. My only complaints was that we had two days of no one cleaning our room or refilling our water; even though we asked multiple times and that the food in the buffets was a little bland.
