Nice Hotel - convenient for walking to things
The location of the hotel was perfect for walking to shops and restaurants. So close to the trail by the water. Has parking as well. It's definitely a little outdated but overall a good place to stay.

Not a good stay. The location of this hotel is great and the room was spacious. There is no air conditioning and the room has a balcony that is shared with all other, one long balcony. People where on the balcony smoking and drinking. Room was so hot, couldn’t even leave patio door open because of the cigarette smoke. Carpet in the room was extremely dirty. Very limited parking.

Clean and comfortable room. It is a little bit outdated. My only concern was how hot it was in the room. They have no AC and give you a small fan. The window does not open. The sliding glass door does. But when you open it, people are allowed to smoke on the balcony, so the smoke comes in. Trains do come by this location. The last one was around 1:11 AM. In the morning a dog was barking between eight and 9:45 AM. I complained twice to the front desk. Later I complained to management who seemed to be receptive to constructive criticism. They said the dog that was barking belonged to a person that was trying to work on the property. This hotel has so much potential. It is close to town. But when you can’t sit in your room because it’s so hot and you have to open up the doors and have the issues with smoke and a train I would rather pay a couple dollars more to stay somewhere else. You have to park a distance from the property. The pool and hot tub are in a different building from the property. You have to play hide and go seek to find the one and only ice machine which should be explained to you on check-in.

The Bow View is definitely showing its age. My room was SO HOT and the thermostat was broken. It was very frustrating and I did not sleep well. If I had not been in a rush to connect with my travel group, I would have complained, but there was no time. There are several other options in Banff that are better than the Bow View for the price. I do not recommend this place.
